I have never made a claim so it is hard to comment here.
I took out medical cover for my trip to Bali. I was told I couldnt get further cover due to the Agung volcano situation. I just want to say that there has been no further problems with the volcano since that initial situation in September. I wonder if you can somehow review the situation with insurance to Bali now and step up to what is actually happening. Bali's tourist trade has dropped dramatically because of this. Most areas are safe to be in. And there is a clear exclusion zone which can be specified.

We review the Mt Agung situation on a weekly basis, the volcano has been erupting intermittently since September with the latest being on 16th January resulting in further ash clouds.
Although our Comprehensive policies currently do not cover for Mt Agung disruptions they do still cover for all other benefits of the policy as standard e.g overseas medical expenses, luggage & personal effects and cancellations due to sickness/injury and other bad weather or natural disaster events. I hope this clarifies things a little for you.
