    I can appreciate that you're disappointed with the outcome of your claim, there is a common misunderstanding that cancelled flights are covered by travel insurance. However, this is not the case. This is generally an industry-wide standard, it’s certainly not an exclusion specific to 1Cover.
    It is the airline’s responsibility to compensate, reimburse, or find an alternative flight for travellers when flights are cancelled due to operational reasons and mechanical failure.
    However, flights cancelled due to reasons outside the control of the airlines, such as severe weather events, natural disasters, you becoming sick or injured are covered by travel insurance. You can choose to have your claim escalated and reviewed by an independent panel if you wish. To organise a review please email your policy details outlining your complaint to [email protected]
