APIA are quite a good insurance company for home and contents insurance for the over 50's. I've been a customer of theirs for 5 years now and have never had a problem. You get to speak to a real person who I reckon lives in Australia so there's no funny accent to work out what they're saying. They have exactly what you need for the insurance and you can choose your excess. They even allow you to have accidental damage insurance for an additional cost for both home and contents.
