Don't be Surprised! ASK ASK ASK!

We ask many times if Bupa would cover the pregnancy process of my wife, and they said, yes, up to 150% of Medicare. We continuously asked how much would that be, always denying to know the amount. We called back again, and they said they wouldn't know as the Medicare amount changes on a monthly basis. I mean, they are in the health care industry, shouldn't they be aware of these amounts or have easy access to this information? We have the PLATINUM Policy as 457 visa holders, and were really surprised and upset with their customer service level and coverage. ALWAYS ASK and if necessary get it on writing to make sure you know how much you will be out of pocket! Frequently the Medicare coverage is on the hundreds of dollars, whilst the doctor's bill is on the thousands!
