20 years for nothing

As title suggests, for over 20 years I was 'insured' by this mob. Not one claim in all that time, not one missed payment. Then my lounge room was flooded after a massive downpour which ran down all one of the inside walls, ruining my carpet, and a TV cabinet. I called 'claims' and spoke to the rudest, most arrogant jerk I think I've ever spoken to. Completely uncaring. Then I get a call back (this was on a Friday) saying they'd send someone 'maybe Monday or Tuesday, but we can't be sure' to DRY my carpets. Not sure if anyone has ever smelt wet carpet, but it's not nice. No way was I waiting that long. Could they send someone today because this really stinks? No. I fumed, and fumed some more, called them back, told them where to shove their insurance, and will never EVER have anything through them again. 2 of my friends, and my brother also cancelled their insurance with them, after the way I was treated, and I still tell anyone that will listen, that they'll happily take your money for 20 years, but don't like giving any back. Work out how much I would've paid in 20 years (and remember, not ONE claim in all that time) and then how much it would've cost them to come and look, and replace said carpet. BIG difference
