• I have a similar claim for a hot water pipe bursting in the upstairs ensuite. Two months later I'm still sleeping poorly downstairs due to the stress they've put me through. I believe their deceitful tactics of refusing to replace every item or stating every item to had prior wear and tear damage is absolutely ludicrous. Their Assessor told me to throw out certain damaged items, only later to discover they would not be replacing these! You were lucky they paid for the plummer as I had to foot this bill too. I've thus far cancelled my motor vehicle insurance policies (2), and after the Insurance Ombudsman reassesses my claim I will be cancelling this policy too! ??
