My travel insurance failed to adequately cover my phone that was damaged abroad (high excess $300). Westpac Personal Valuables was able to provide the market value less $100 for an event that happened overseas. I was given a jbhifi voucher which I was able to use to replace my phone. The claim process was straightforward and took about 2 weeks for the claim to finalise which was reasonable.
