Any reason to refuse a claim
Wish I could give less than 1. Westpac customer and insuree for many years. First claim after an internal wall was damaged in a storm. They insisted on sending their own 'repairer' who told me the wall wasn't constructed well and needed more rio, and that they won't pay. Also trying to claim the wall was weakened by nearby plants. Going to fight this one to the end - the wall has stood with no issues for 30 years, it had reinforcing pillars for strength instead of steel, and the plants did nothing. Oh, also they don't cover shadesails over 5 years old (under 5 years are probably covered by manufacturer or installer's warranty anyway). I've been treated like absolute scum the whole way along. I'm moving all my accounts and as soon as I fight this, in court if I have to, I'll never use their services again. Buyer beware. Also watch out for 'Michael the repairer' in Perth.
