• I had two policies with Amex as my partner did not travel with me an all sectors. We had to cut short our stay by one week due to her falling ill. We lost the prepaid hotel accomdation. When attempting to claim I received a big pile of documents to complete that I spent 2 hours on completing. It then occured to me that I need to complete a claimform for the partner as well, and needed to allow for the deductable of $500 for my policy and the same for her policy. That put an end to the claim as I may have got back $20.00 So, if your trip is not the same on all legs of the journey travelinsurance in its present form is quite useless.

  • I had travel insurance with AMEX for a trip to Ireland, flights were delayed in Ireland and it was impossible to make the connecting flight meaning a 48 hour delay in Abu Dabi. I opted with the carrier to stay put in Ireland and catch the next flight, rather than stay in Abu Dabi. Had to fill in tonnes of paperwork and AMEXCO refused to pay the claim. Absolute waste of my time and my money.
