Ridiculous price increase when extending policy

I left with an insurance from 1Cover and while I was away I had to extend it by two weeks initially, because of family issues overseas. That cost me $33, which was fine. Then I had to extend it for another 2 weeks and all of the sudden it was around $44. I thought it was odd but decided to go with it anyway. Then I had to extend it for another 2 weeks and all of the sudden they charged me $55! I understand that the amount might be higher than usual, because of the extending nature of it, but it is ridiculous that it went from $33 to $44 to $55 for the same amount of time.
