Will be sticking with 1Cover !!!
We travel for a total of about 3 months each year , have had annual travel insurance the previous 2 years and have never previously made a claim. As our most recent trip was over 90 days we took out a policy for a single trip this time . In our last week my husband got a debilitating back injury and was deemed unfit to fly . We were forced to stay there until he was able to get a “fit to fly “ certificate which ended up being another 7 days . Initially we had no idea how long we would have to stay, whether 1 Cover, ourselves or our travel agent would need to reorganise flights and we felt for the first 3 days we had been left stranded as 1 Cover were not answering our questions .
On Day 1 we were asked for the medical report which we sent straight thru . Day 2 we were asked for his home doctors contact details. Day 3 we were requested to sign the authority for our doctor to give them details . We were so frustrated that we had not been asked to provide all this on Day 1 and were left querying whether they were going to cover us ( hence the reason for not giving a 10 rating )
HOWEVER , once they had received confirmation that it was not a pre- existing injury , 1Cover were FANTASTIC - they confirmed all would be covered , organised new flights ( with business class for my husband so he could lie down) , arranged wheelchair assistance and were super prompt and efficient with settlement on our return home .
