My planned trip to US involved flying to Chicago and taking the Amtrak California Zephyr to San Fransisco. We have an annual multitrip policy with Columbus Direct as we had insured with them for years and we had not made any claims prior to this. A couple of days before our travel commences, we received a notice that our train on Amtrak was cancelled due to flash floods. Knowing that we had an annual multitrip policy, I called Columbus to tell them we will be making a claim. They argued that we could still make the trip to US, so cancellation was not covered.
