• Whilst that may be disappointing for you, it is quite usual for insurance companies to use Government advice about travel to a particular country (or even an area of a country) when considering cancellation claims. If at the time you made your claim the advice was not changed from the usual 'take care level' then you can't blame the insurance company refusing your claim. In the same way if there was a travel warning and someone ignored that then needed to make a claim they too would likely find their claim refused. We travellers can't have it both ways. You could always try getting a refund from the airline and hotel companies directly if you cancelled your trip.
