Disappointing lack of travel alerts
We recently travelled to Bali (July 2018), and booked travel insurance for our 1 week holiday. We were aware of the volcano eruption in November 2017, but did not know the exception was still in place. Our flights were delayed for 48 hrs during the most recent eruption, and we were told we not covered for reimbursement. Although we selected Bali as our destination, no alert came up warning us that there was an insurance exception for this destination. 1Cover were more than happy to take our money for selling us a sub-par policy, though. Furthermore, when asked for our cover to be cancelled and refunded, 1Cover declined, stating that the policy period was already in effect, despite only technically being 9 hours into the designated period of time and the fact we were still at home due to the cancellations, only 3 hours after our scheduled flight.

I can appreciate why you're disappointed in the wording of our policies and the circumstances in which we are able to offer cancellation cover. The exclusion in regards to Mt Agung has been industry wide since last year and we have our travel alerts linked to our home page just under the quote box and this is updated regularly.
Keeping an open dialogue with our customers is how we improve our service, so thank you for your feedback.
